In the spirit of collaboration, Resounding Scream Theatre is excited to be taking on the production of the newest incarnation of the theatrical event inspired by the original Hive Collective. Resounding Scream will be presenting Hive: The New Bees 3 this summer. Last year, 12 companies came together to create an event full of creativity and passion. This year, 11 companies will again take the plunge sharing emerging art and innovation with East Vancouver.

The Girls Project

Resounding Scream Theatre is kicking off a workshop series for its newest undertaking, The Girls Project. A dream that has been in the making for almost 3 years now, The Girls Project explores 4 iconic literary characters - Ophelia, Juliet, Iphigenia and Cassandra - all of whom are flirting with the line between girlhood and womanhood. Though many things exist comparing and contrasting the lives of these ladies, one through line connects all of their stories; all of the women have sacrificed themselves for the betterment of a man. In the light of recent bullying tragedies, we believe that now more than ever, we need to pursue this project and explore why girls make the decisions they do. Our hope is to use this as a springboard to open a conversation with girls working towards understanding this culture.
